Editing send delays & timing
Every flow sends its emails on a schedule - the first one fires when the flow is triggered, and the rest follow after set delays. Wiz picks sensible timing for you based on best practices, but you can adjust the delays to suit your store.
Opening the delay editor
- Open Wiz → Flow Editor and select the flow you want to adjust.
- Scroll to the Triggers & Funnel section below the Flow Selector. Each email is listed with its current delay (for example, Delay: 48 hour(s) from previous).
- Click the pencil icon next to an email. This opens the flow's timing modal, listing the delay for every email in the flow.

How the delays work
Delays are measured from the previous email, not from when the flow started. So a delay of 48 hours on the second email means it sends two days after the first one.
- The first email's timing is locked. It always sends when the flow is triggered, and shows This trigger can't be changed.
- Later emails have editable delays, each within a guardrail range that Wiz enforces. For example, the second Welcome email allows 12-72 hours from previous, and the third allows 1-7 days from previous.
These ranges keep your timing in a healthy window - spaced out enough to avoid overwhelming subscribers, but close enough to stay relevant. You can pick any value inside the allowed range.
When you're happy with the timing, click Save.
Common questions
Why can't I change when the first email sends?
The first email is the flow's trigger point - it's meant to fire immediately when the customer takes the triggering action (signs up, abandons a cart, and so on), so its timing is fixed.
Can I set any delay I want?
You can set any value inside the guardrail range shown beneath each field. Wiz constrains the delays to sensible windows rather than allowing unlimited values.
Do delay changes affect people already in the flow?
Changes apply going forward. Save your new timing and the flow will use it for future sends.
