Articles on: Flows

Abandoned Checkout & Browse Abandonment

Two of your flows exist to win back shoppers who showed interest but didn't buy. Together they cover the most common drop-off points in the customer journey.

Recovers

Browse Abandonment

Shoppers who viewed products but didn't add anything to their cart

Abandoned Checkout

Shoppers who started checkout but didn't complete the purchase

Both flows are triggered automatically as customers browse and shop, and both remind people of the exact items they were looking at.

They show each customer's own items

The emails in these flows contain dynamic product blocks - special blocks that automatically fill in each customer's actual cart or browsed products when the email is sent. They work using merge tags like {{ products.productImage }}, {{ products.productTitle }}, and {{ products.productPrice }}, which Wiz replaces with real product details for each recipient.

In the editor, these blocks appear as "Dynamically Generated" placeholders, and the merge tags show up as highlighted text. The real images, names, and prices are filled in per customer at send time.

Don't edit the dynamic blocks

Leave the dynamic product blocks alone. Editing or replacing their merge-tag content breaks the automatic per-customer rendering - for example, swapping out the image removes each shopper's real product photo, and the email will no longer show what they actually looked at.

If you want to change the design of these emails, edit the surrounding blocks (headlines, buttons, colors) but keep the dynamic block and its merge tags exactly as they are. For more detail, see Don't edit dynamic cart blocks.

Common questions

What if my email shows {{ products.productImage }} instead of a picture?

That's the placeholder shown in the editor and in test previews. When the email actually sends to a customer, the merge tags are replaced with their real cart items.

Can I add a discount to these emails?

Yes - each flow has its own discount code. See How Wiz discounts work to review or change it.

Can I change how many reminders send, or when?

You can turn individual emails on or off (Turning individual emails on or off) and adjust the delays (Editing send delays & timing).
