Sending a test email

Before an email goes out to your customers, send yourself a test copy so you can check how it looks in a real inbox. Wiz makes this a one-click action.

From an email's Edit dropdown

  1. In the Flow Editor, select the email you want to check.
  2. Click Edit above the preview.
  3. Choose Send Test Email.

The Edit dropdown with Send Test Email highlighted

Wiz sends the email to your own inbox so you can open it like a customer would.

From inside the editor

If you already have the email open in the editor, you don't need to go back - there's a Send Test Email button at the top right of the editor page. Click it to send yourself the current version.

What to check in your test

  • The subject line and preview text read well in the inbox list.
  • Images load, and any AI hero image text looks right (see Editing your AI hero image).
  • Links and buttons go where you expect.
  • The email looks good on both desktop and mobile - open the test on your phone too.

A test email is just for you. Sending a test doesn't send anything to your customers and doesn't activate or schedule the email.

Common questions

Where does the test go?

To your own inbox - the email tied to your Wiz account.

Will customers get the test?

No. A test only goes to you. Your flow emails send on their triggers, and campaigns send when you schedule them.

The dynamic cart looks empty in my test.

That's expected. The Abandoned Checkout cart fills in with each customer's real products at send time - see Don't edit the dynamic cart blocks.
