Using your own pop-up app with Wiz

Wiz comes with its own built-in pop-up for collecting sign-ups (see How the pop-up works). But if you already use a pop-up from another app - or you simply prefer a different one - you can keep using it with Wiz.

Yes, it's supported - but there's one required step: contact Wiz support first.

Why you need to contact support

When someone signs up through Wiz's own pop-up, that sign-up automatically triggers your Welcome flow. A pop-up from a different app doesn't do that on its own - Wiz needs to recognize it as a trusted source first.

So before you rely on a third-party pop-up, reach out to Wiz support and let them know which pop-up app you're using. Support will whitelist it so that sign-ups from that pop-up flow into Wiz and trigger your Welcome flow.

Without whitelisting, sign-ups from another app's pop-up won't enter your Welcome flow - meaning those new subscribers won't get your welcome emails. Contacting support first avoids that gap.

How to do it

  1. Decide which pop-up app you want to use.
  2. Contact Wiz support and tell them you'd like to use that pop-up instead of Wiz's.
  3. Once support confirms it's whitelisted, sign-ups from your pop-up will trigger the Welcome flow as expected.

If you'd rather stick with the built-in option, you can customize almost everything about it - see Customizing your pop-up design.

Common questions

Can I use both my pop-up and Wiz's?

Talk to support about your setup - they'll help you whitelist your pop-up and advise on avoiding two pop-ups competing for the same visitor.

Will my Welcome flow still work?

Yes, once your pop-up is whitelisted. That's exactly what the whitelisting step ensures.

What if I don't contact support?

Sign-ups from a non-whitelisted pop-up won't trigger the Welcome flow, so those subscribers won't receive your welcome emails.
