Connecting your domain

Connecting your own sending domain takes two steps: tell Wiz your domain, then add a few DNS records at your domain provider so Wiz is authorized to send on your behalf. (New to why this matters? See Why you should connect your own domain.)

Start at Brand & Settings → Sender info → Setup Domain.

Step 1 - Enter your domain

Type your main website domain (for example, yourdomain.com). Wiz automatically creates a sending subdomain from it - something like sends.yourdomain.com - which is what it uses to send your emails. You don't need to invent this; Wiz fills it in.

Step 1 of the domain setup, entering your domain

Click Save & Continue.

Step 2 - Add the DNS records

Wiz shows a set of DNS records to add at your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.). These prove you authorize Wiz to send email for your domain.

The DNS records to add, with the Verify button

  1. Open your domain provider and go to its DNS management page.
  2. Add each record shown - 3 DKIM records (CNAME) and 1 DMARC record (TXT) - copying the values exactly.
  3. Save the records at your provider.
  4. Back in Wiz, tick I've added these records and click Verify Records.

There's a video tutorial in the app if you'd like to follow along, and live chat if you get stuck.

DNS changes can take time to take effect. If verification doesn't pass immediately, wait a little and try Verify Records again - propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Also make sure you added the records at your DNS provider, not inside Shopify.

If you don't finish

If you leave setup partway through, your domain shows as Incomplete on the Sender info page. You can Continue setup to finish verifying, or Disconnect to start over with a different domain. In the meantime, Wiz keeps sending safely from the shared domain - nothing breaks.

Switching domains later

Once a domain is connected and verified, you can change it any time: on Sender info, use Disconnect custom domain, then set up a new one.
