Changing a discount
Want to offer a different discount - say, change your welcome offer from 10% to 15%? A discount in Wiz lives in three places, and they all need to agree. Change only one and your emails will promise one thing while checkout applies another.
Here's the full checklist.
The three layers of a discount
- What's actually applied - the discount itself, in Shopify.
- What's promised - the wording in your pop-up and emails.
- What code is issued - the coupon block linked to the discount.
Update all three and everything stays consistent.
Step 1 - Change the discount in Shopify
Go to Shopify admin → Discounts and search "BASE" to find your Wiz discounts (see How Wiz discounts work). Open the one you want to change - for example WELCOME-BASE-10 - and edit its value, minimum, or product eligibility.

Step 2 - Update the wording everywhere it's written
The old value is written as text in a few places, and changing the Shopify discount won't update those automatically. Check:
- Your pop-up - the headline and subtitle (e.g. "Want 10% off your first order?").
- Your emails - the coupon block's text (e.g. "Here's 10% Off your next order"), plus subject lines and preview text that mention the amount.
- Text baked into AI hero images - if a hero image shows the discount, update it with Edit hero (see Editing your AI hero image). This one is easy to miss.

Step 3 - Check the coupon block points to the right code
In each email's Coupon Code block, confirm the linked discount is the one you intend. This is what determines the actual code your customer receives.
Quick summary

The discount code used | Re-link it in the email's Coupon Code block |
